National Grid’s award-winning National Consents Team is now looking to recruit enthusiastic individuals with experience of working on Major Infrastructure Projects in the fields of Town Planning, Environmental Impact Assessment and Environmental Project Development to add to our growing Major Projects Consenting Team.
Major in-flight projects include Hinkley Connection, Richborough Connection and London Power Tunnels 2.
The Major Projects Consents Team are a highly experienced and dedicated team focused on the development and delivery of a range of major, complex, gas and electricity infrastructure projects, using a variety of consenting regimes and Environmental Impact Assessment to achieve positive outcomes. We are working on projects both on land and in the sea. We have a growing and exciting workbook, with increasingly diverse and challenging projects to work on. We are a high-performing team, with a desire to continuously improve our practices and add value. In this role you will be advising a major projects team on the consenting strategy, programme and approach for achieving the necessary consents, planning permissions and licences to build critical gas and electricity infrastructure, you will be responsible for engaging with statutory consultees in the planning process and managing contractors to provide specialist input to support application submissions.
We are also looking to recruit a Senior Project Development Specialist working as part of the National Consents Team providing planning and environmental advice and support to National Grid on early project inception across all types and scales of electricity and gas infrastructure. You will be the first contact point for our internal engineering colleagues and will work with a number of internal stakeholders to identify the consenting strategy, programme and costs.
